We have rapidly developed a reputation within the bicycle industry for producing no-nonsense websites that actually work for our clients. This is no error, because the company was originally started specifically to cater for the individual requirements of the bike trade. The MD of SiWIS, Simon Watts, was part of the UK bike industry for 15 years, both in the retail environment and as a salesman for a very large UK Cycles and Accessory wholesaler before setting up the company. It is this extensive trade knowledge, combined with an extensive knowledge of the internet which has placed the company where it is now, in such a short space of time. We specialise in bike related sites.

The choice to specialise primarily within the bike industry was very deliberate. A website is your silent salesman, but it is a salesman that receives no training with the exception of the knowledge of the person who provides the content. We specialise in bikes because we know bikes, meaning that we can generally provide a better quality of content for your visitors without having to bother you for that information endlessly.

No other web development company can offered the tailored solutions to the cycle industry that SiWIS can.

But it doesn't end there. SiWIS has also provided sites for clients outside the bicycle business. These sites are valuable additions to the SiWIS portfolio and prove that specialisation needn't limit the provision of attractive and effective sites.

Content management systems are our particular strength, enabling our clients to run their own sites. By providing easy to use but comprehensive self management systems, clients who select a self managed site may now edit and control virtually any aspect of their site, from the text content, to the insertion of images, all without any HTML skills being required. This has led to a broadening of our portfolio, particularly with the introduction of our own e-commerce package, i-BikeShop. Whilst a small number of elements of the system are unique to bicycle retailers, it has already been adopted for use in the automotive parts retail sector and would easily match the needs of virtually any type of retail environment. i-BikeShop is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database backend for true scalability.
